What are we going to sell?

Well, we want to fill any gap in current curriculum availability that we come across and think needs filling.
One of our particular pet peeves is how reading is taught. Even with publishers that claim they are teaching a phonics based reading system, we have found time and again that that is just not the case.
Most of the time, they are simply selling a half-baked version of phonics and still relying on almost as much rote memorization as the government school system.

What did we do about it?

We decided enough was enough and hunkered down and designed our own system.
A completely unique approach that utilizes a child or adult's natural ability to recall numbers and colors.
Basically, I wanted to understand why it was that from a very young age I just got reading. I mean I never found it that difficult. But, as I grew up and became a wife and mother, I realized that being able to nearly instantly recognize the patterns in English was not a very common ability.
Partly because English is a huge, complicated language that is just a bit wonky!
If we had enough characters (letters) to represent all of our sounds, we would be much better off. But, unfortunately, our sounds way outnumber our characters (letters). So, English got a little creative and along the way got harder and harder.
We have a whole bunch of letter teams in our language, did you know that???
Instead of completely going on a tirade about reading, though, I am going to move on and leave you with a link to a reading article that goes into the nitty-gritty.

So, we are trying to apply my natural pattern-recognition abilities and design a code that can be easily taught to children and adults alike. We hope you enjoy what we have created!

One of the most natural ways to learn to read is through storybooks. Our Storybook Reading curriculum has been designed to gently introduce children into the complicated code that is English. They will learn grammar and spelling along the way too! Enjoy!
We want to help inspire a lifelong love of learning in your child!

Sadly, there are thousands of children every year who fall behind in reading in schools. Usually, they are blamed and put into "special needs" classes so the school can get even more tax-payer money for them. This is crazy! No one deserves to be labeled and set aside.
We believe that, with the exceptions of true developmental or physical disabilities, children can all learn to read well. It will take a different amount of effort and time for each student, but they will learn.
In our nation, many of these left behind children are now adults or teenagers. And, they still lack the basic reading skills they deserve to have to function independently and to thrive in their chosen professions.
This program does not require a teacher or tutor. It is completely self-contained! Voice buttons are included with the ebook so you can sit down and teach yourself to read as effectively as you are willing to.

Spelling is an intimidating subject!
After all, what professional goes without their computer's spell check, right?
We understand this all too well.
Complete reading fluency involves confidence in spelling. And, while our Storybook Book Reading curriculum certainly gets your child started on the right path to proper spelling, this curriculum focuses on it.
Spelling is a completely different skill than reading. Obviously they are connected, but they are very different.
Spelling requires time and effort. But, we also believe that readers deserve answers or at least pattern revelations so that they can achieve good spelling...this is where you will find that!

To round out and complete reading fluency is the subject of writing.
In this course the student is taken through all the necessary, foundational elements that making up composition.
Grammar
Syntax
Style
And all the other good stuff...

In addition, this course gives the student a deeper relationship with English through the teaching of word origins and morphemes.
Morpheme is a scary word that represents the smaller units of meaning with in a word.
It turns out, English words are a lot like Lego blocks. They are built! Knowing the origins and the units of meanings within words allows the student to know their language. It also allows them to know the meaning of word they may have never read before simply by knowing what the smaller units of the word mean.
