Books Galore!

Here we are in the curriculum deep dive! There are so many books these days for homeschoolers to choose from that it is crazy overwhelming.
So, instead of just throwing all the brands out there at you, I am going to list them according to the teaching approach and methods they use.
There are probably an infinite number of names for these approaches, but I am going to narrow it down to six main types:
Traditional
Charlotte Mason
Made for Homeschoolers
Classical
Unschooling
Self paced / Virtual

Each of these approaches has its advantages.

Another quick note to keep in mind as you research teaching methods and curriculum, is the concept of having a broad base of knowledge.
You may have never heard of that, so I am only slightly ashamed to admit I asked my phone, and here is what it said:
It refers to having a wide-ranging understanding of different topics and subjects rather than a narrow focus on only 1 topic or focus. (Paraphrase, mine.)
In other words, as you go along your homeschool journey, do not narrow your focus or your student's focus down to just one or two topics. You want them to be able to excel at whatever they want, and so give them a foundation in many areas.

Click on the buttons for each approach to learn more about them and to see a list of publishers who follow that teaching approach.
