Good Citizen
No matter what nation you are from, I believe it is a wise practice to be a good citizen.
Good nations come from good citizens!
Wherever God has placed you, He has specific intentions for you where you are at.
What does it mean to be a good citizen?
Is it enough to just vote and move along?
Or, are you called to be actively engaged in consistently making your nation a better place to live.
Corruption is a natural consequence of apathy among the populace.
If politicians face consequences for their evil, immoral actions, they are less likely to commit such acts.
As an American, I am fortunate to live in a nation where I have a say in who is in power.
Sadly, most Americans (myself included) use such a small fraction of this power that we are left to whine about what is going on rather than spur ourselves into action.
Laziness is easy. Complaining is easy.
Taking action is the work most people avoid with great passion.
Therefore, people who seek power are the ones who generally attain it. And, those who actively seek power are usually the ones who should not have it.
Teaching both yourselves (let's face it, not many of us actually know how our government works) and your child how to be good citizens and leaders is a vital aspect of their education.
